DIY: Budget Lightbox

“There are no bad pictures; that’s just how your face looks sometimes.”
? Abraham Lincoln

While being bored out of my mind today I decided to try and make my own lightbox for photographing my miniatures. I’ve been planing on picking one up cheap on eBay for a couple of years but never get around to it. So after finding a suitable box, a box cutter, some fabric and glue I got busy.

I didn’t take any progress photos, there’s already so many great guides on how to build one online that it felt redundant to make yet another one.

The construction went fine and it looks better then I thought it would, I’m not the most handy man when it comes to things like this and after ?borrowing? some white fabric from the wife and gluing it to the box it was more or less done.

And about then I realized that I don’t really have any decent lamps to use for it and no daylight light bulbs so I haven’t been able to try it out yet. For some reason it’s quite hard to find daylight bulbs around here so I’ll most likely order some cheap ones on eBay. I found some small tripods with bulbs quite cheap but as my space is quite limited I hope that I’ll find some clamp spotlights instead.

Here are the links to some of the guides I read up on before buidling it:

There’s many more great guides that I forgot to bookmark.

This is how my budget version looks like:
