XCon Summer Edition

Last week we had the summer edition of a small local convention happening so Thursday, Friday and Saturday were spent gaming with friends and having a very good time. I got to try out a bunch of new games (to me at least) and a couple of old ones.

The new(ish) games I tried:

Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game (2008)

I’m very happy that I finally got to try the Cthulhu LCG, which I bought a couple of years ago but never got around to trying. It was fun, we didn’t know the rules all that well but we had a good time playing it.

The best games was definitely Dixit for the amusement and A Few Acres of Snow + Tide of Iron for the strategy nut in me.

I also got my order from Firestorm Games with a box of Warlord Zulu Wars Brits and the Bolt Action rulebook. The rulebook was very nice and high quality and I’m slowly making my way through it. The Brits I’m less impressed with. The plastic ones are quite good but suffer from lack of poses and the metal ones you got in the box, yea.. the quality of the casts were terrible.
