Today I played a game of 40k down at the club, Daemons as usual for me and my friend surprised me with his WIP Krieg army he has been working on for quite some time. We played 1750pts and I went with a small, more elite Nurgle list with way to few troops. The list was:
1 Great Unclean One
2 Nurgle Heralds
2×15 units of PB
2 Beasts of Nurgle
3 Beasts of Nurgle
3 Blight Drones
1 Plague Hulk
I don’t have a copy of his list, but it was mostly infantry and artillery and one of the new bunker things. I lucked out with the army selection, he didn’t have that much AT. We played the ‘1 objective per side’ mission.
The first turn wasn’t very eventful for either of us, some wound here and there but nothing important.
The second turn started out quite bad with one of my PB squads misshaped and got destroyed and a pretty good shooting phase mixed with a brutal Warp Storm for my friend it was looking pretty good.
After that it got pretty brutal on both sides, I lost my other squad if PB and was without troops but managed to get his troops away from his objective with my GUO but he was taking a beating and was left with one wound left in round 5. In the later rounds my vehicles started to get knocked off and I was very lucky and the game ended after the 5th round which meant I won thanks to getting the Warlord and First Blood points. If the game had gone for another round, I would most likely had lost as I don’t think I would have been able to keep him away from his objective.
It was a fun game and quite an even fight plus it was fun to play against a Krieg army which I don’t think I’ve ever done before and not to forget they look absolutely fucking great. I’m definitely looking forward to playing them again.
And finally, I’ve started painting for real it feel like. Right now I have the first 24 British miniatures for my VSF project on the table. I have most of the base colors done at this point and should start washing them soon.
Here is proof that it’s actually happening^^
Btw I got my Blood-Maw in the mail on friday 😀
