Comics – Harvest

Armed with a new 10″ tablet that arrived in the mail last week I decided to take up reading some comics again, which has been put on the back burner for a couple of years now. I started looking around for something interesting and have started putting together a small collection over the last week, with a good mix between new and classic. Both stuff I’ve already read and some new ones, well new to me at least.

The other day I was searching for some good horror comics and found a small 5 issue comic called Harvest that sounded quite interesting. It didn’t really scream out horror but creepy, dark, dark thriller about the illegal harvesting and transplantation of human organs. A very promesing theme for a really dark comic imo and one that I’ve never heard of befpre. So I quickly got myself a copy of it.

It’s published by Imagen, written by AJ Liebermen and art by Colin Lorimer.

The art style they went with works really well for this theme, it compliments the story very well and works well for both the really dark and sometimes bloodu parts as well as the action scenes.

As for the story, well I only have good things to say for that as well. It really makes you feel that humanity is fucked upp and it manage to find that creepy, psychological thriller feeling you got from watching Se7en the first time.

And if I were to give it a rating, I would give it: 8.5/10
I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something very dark to read and wants something that can be read in a day.
