Rushed Diorama

Rushed Diorama

It seems like I made a kinda stupid mistake. The last week I’ve been rushing getting my diorama for the banana contest finished just to see that I had the date all wrong. I was convinced that the competition ended today, well it doesn’t, as a matter of fact it doesn’t end until 12 days from now. Doh!

Well since the diorama is finished I send it in and can now show it.

I’m not very happy with it, or with the resin I used for water. I haven’t used resin before and I made a couple of mistakes prepping the diorama and when pouring it but I’ll put that down as experience so hopefully the next time will get better results.

The diorama features two knocked out and abandoned Ma.K walkers in a swampy environment. I’ve had the idea for it a while and I’m glad I finally got around to making it. To help me I’ve spend a lot of time over at Armorama reading through all the great info on their forum.

Comic Con

For the second year in a row there will be a Comic Con here in Sweden, or that’s partially wrong because we’re getting two Comic Con’s. One in Stockholm and one in Malmö. So I’ve started to try to convince my sister to go to the one in Stockholm with me as she lives halfway up there and I hope I will get someone from the club to go to the Malmö one as well. We have some friends down there so it would be a good excuse to go visit them.

They haven’t released much information about what will be there but it should be fun and I haven’t been at a real convention for quite some time now so it’s about time.

By pure luck more or less I’m going to beta test a new line of paints that I hope will make it to the market. I got the package with 10 of the planned colors in the mail today and I’m going to start testing them later on today. I’m quite excited about them and it’s going to be very interesting to see how they hold up against the established paint lines.

  • I don’t think I could ever bring myself to work with resin like this. I saw a piece in the coolminiornot competition…everything in the piece was rendered so beautifully…but his resin pour came out cloudy…i mean what can you do at that point? One that stuff goes hard, it’s stuck like that forever!

  • Yea I totaly agree, I don’t think I could do it with an expensive miniature, these I had collecting dust so It didn’t matter that much if I screwed it up but it was still nerve wracking.
