DreadTOBER WiP – Part 1 – Pumpkins & Basing
This post is long overdue but I hope that I’ll be back in action now.
I have been working on both competitions entries, mostly on the bases and they got primed yesterday.
The basic parts of the DreadTOBER base is done with just the groundworks left to do before attacking it with a brush.
As for the shape of the base I decided to go with a squared diorama base. I’m most likely never going to use my old Ork army so it didn’t need a round base.
I haven’t made much progress on the Kan but it’s primed and gotten it’s first layer of paint
Pumpkins, pumpkins for sale!
With the timing of the competition, autumn harvest and close to Halloween I thought it would be fun to use that as the theme.
I think the theme will work well with my choice of Killakan, I’m using an old oop RT Kan and they are quite goofy looking.
To make it even more silly I’m having the Kan selling pumpkins at a market stall. I hope that I still have some old Grots to add if I’ll have time to paint them and I’m trying to make a pumpkin hat for the Kan.
For the market stall I sculpted a bunch of pumpkins from Super Sculpey and for the stall itself and the rest of the wooden parts I used balsa wood.
It’s going to be very interesting to paint the Killakan. The only vehicles I’ve painted in quite some time were for Bolt Action and I haven’t painted anything Ork related in a long, long time.
