Red Riding Hood Part 1 – Skin
I got this miniature a while back and completely fell in love with it. Definitely one of my favorite sculpts from Nuts! Planet.
This far in I’ve only worked in her skin and it should be finished quite soon. I’m debating with myself if I should make the skin a bit colder or not.
I had a small.. hrm.. accident while painting her and broke of her sword. It’s very easy to fix though so it shouldn’t be a problem.
The basic skin tones are quite easy and all the colors besides the base (VMC) all the paint is from Scale75.
- Base: Beige Red
- HL #1: Golden Skin
- HL #2: Golden Skin + Light Skin, 1:1
- HL #3: Light Skin + Pale Skin, 1:1
- HL #4: Pale Skin
- HL #5: Pale Skin + Mojave White, 1:1
After all that is finished, it’s time to attack it with some glazes to make it more interesting. All the paint used for the glazes are VMC and very diluted.
- Glaze #1: Purple + Flat Red + Carmine Red, 1+1+1
- Glaze #2: Purple + Flat Red, 2:1
This is where she’s at right now. Next part to get painted is her boots/leg things. I’m not sure exactly what color I’ll use but I’m pretty sure it will be some shade of brown.
It’s finally starting to be fun to paint again, to actually feel like I’m getting back into the habit.
