I followed the progress of this bust and it’s sister sculpt at the Wamp forum and decided to get them if they became available. I’m a huge horror fan, especially surreal horror and this bust fits that very well.
I don’t know where Lee got his inspiration for this bust, but to me, it reminds me a lot of the Silent Hill video and computer games and in some regards the movies.
I think this is a good thing. Silent Hill has always had unique and surreal looking creatures that I’ve always had a weak spot for.
The bust, as you can see in the photos, is a woman that’s split open from where her eyes used to be, all the way down to just below her belly button.
The sculpting is pretty well done. It’s not the most detailed bust in my stash but it doesn’t really need more details. There are some small details that I think adds a lot of character to the sculpt, especially what looks like teeth in her split belly.
Another part that’s one of the best on her is the cracked and broken skin that could be painted with some interesting effects.
I’m not sure who the Wamp Store uses to do their casting but I have a vague memory that they do it their self. It’s a nice cast without a doubt with just some small mould lines to clean. The bust comes in just one piece so no building required.
The cast gives you the nice textures I mentioned above, and the part that has the least amount of texture is her robe.
I’m very pleased with Wamp’s decision to put this bust on the market. There’s a big lack of horror miniatures and busts and the few that exists are mostly dark fantasy, so this is a welcome addition.
While it’s not the best bust I have seen, it is one of the unique ones. And if you are like me, a lover of everything horror, I highly recommend her, and at the price they are selling her for, it’s even more worth it.
