This is the second bust from Wamp, sculpted by Lee Jae Chi, and just like the first, it’s a horror bust. Unlike the previous one, I don’t see any influence from Silent Hill but I do see an influence from the work of Lovecraft.
As I wrote above, this bust doesn’t seem to have any influences from the Silent Hill franchise but I’m not an expert on Silent Hill so I might have missed it.
The first thing that comes to mind when looking at her is, Lovecraft. As I’m a big Lovecraft fan, I’m not complaining.
I like the sculpting on this one more than on the Faceless Wraith. The biggest reason is that there are more details and more textures.
Unlike the Wraith, she doesn’t have her torso split open but instead, it looks like it could be either some necrosis that has eaten away on her torso or something has ripped out her ribs on that side.
Then we have the tentacles. I like them a lot. The top part of her head doesn’t exist, instead, there’s 8 tentacles coming up and a mouth in the middle of the tentacles.
I think Lee did a great job sculpting her and I hope that he will make more horror busts in the future.
The casting quality is good. There were a bit of cleaning but nothing big or hard to do. There was a mould line on each side of her body and some small flash between the tentacles. Just as her sister sculpt, she’s cast in a single piece.
As I’ve said many times before, I love horror so this bust is right up my alley. It gets even better when you add a generous portion of Lovecraft to the mix and with that, the tentacles are mandatory.
If you are a horror buff and looking for a nice bust with a great theme and has a low cost, you can’t go wrong.
