Epic Armageddon

Epic Armageddon WIP

After a very fun game of Epic Armageddon a couple of weeks ago, my interest for Epic has grown a lot. The last week has been spent organising and re-basing both parts of my own Epic collection but also a Squat army that belongs to a friend.

So far I’ve re-based almost everything for the Squats, the Daemons for my Emperor’s Children and all the characters for my Necron army. Plus re-organize everything to use with the new updated army lists.

This interest for Epic Armageddon came at a good time, I haven’t been able to do any serious painting but building Epic units and sorting out foam trays for them have worked very well.

I have a lot of painting that needs to get done on the armies as well, plus the actual basing. My Necrons are more or less painted with just some units and characters left. The Squats will get a makeover, 75% of my EC are unpainted and I’m doing some painting on my friends Cultist army. So yeah, it’s a lot of painting but I’ve always liked painting 6mm which is weird because in general, I really don’t like painting smaller miniatures.

So far today has been spent building a Chaos Altar for the Cultists and I’m planning on building a second one if I can find some good parts.

This weekend has another game of Epic Armageddon planned and I’m bringing the might of the Squats.

Age of Sigmar

The second thing that has kickstarted my interest in gaming is an upcoming club tournament in Age of Sigmar. We’re a small club so it’s a small tournament, only six players but it’s going to be a lot of fun. While I’ve never been a big Warhammer Fantasy fan but I like the new rules and I’ve always enjoyed our small club tournaments so I’m looking forward to it.

We’re only running 1000pt lists for it and it was hard to decide on what army to bring. Well, part of it was easy, Daemons of Chaos, the only other army I kinda have is an old Beastmen army that I haven’t touched in a long, long time so Daemons it is.

The hard part was what Daemons to use. My favourite God has in general been Slaanesh but after reading the Disciples of Tzeentch book, I decided to try them out.

It’s not a good list by any means but I think it can be quite fun to play and it looks like this:

Allegiance: Tzeentch

  • Lord Of Change (300) General
  • The Blue Scribes (120)
  • Gaunt Summoner (100)

  • 10 x Pink Horrors Of Tzeentch (140) Battleline
  • 10 x Pink Horrors Of Tzeentch (140) Battleline
  • 3 x Chaos Spawn (180)

It’s basically a gimmick army that’s only good at one thing, magic. If everything works, it can do a lot of damage but it’s easy to cripple it.

Other WIPs

I haven’t made any more real progress on my Orc Shaman but at least he’s got his staff now.

We have been thinking of trying the new Shadow War game so I’ve tossed together some miniatures for that as well. I just need to build another 5 or so.

Some weeks ago another friend in the club brought his copy of Blood Rage to try out and I was very impressed with the miniatures included so I’m doing a quick paint job on one of the Trolls.
